So We’re Not Just Staging Maternity Portraits?
No - my goal is to help tell the story of your life as it actually happens. We are not necessarily taking formal, staged one-off portraits.
I spend several hours with my clients, often following along as they participate in regular activities with family. Soon-to-be parents may enjoy documenting a trip to the furniture store as they shop for a nursing chair or crib, or perhaps I can visit you at home to take professional photos while you prepare the house for your new child’s arrival. Whether you’re a single mother, a young couple, or a family with several children at home already, my goal is to document these moments in time and tell a story through pictures.
We Will Talk About Your Goals and Vision For The Shoot
In our initial correspondence, I’d love to hear about your current stage in life, things you enjoy doing, and activities your family may want to document. The more insight I have regarding your personality and family, the better. I’m also happy to suggest activities and settings for our documentary-style maternity shoot.

Some of my clients initially contact me for maternity photos before booking newborn sessions, toddler birthday party documentaries, holiday shoots, and more several years down the road. You will be amazed at how this style of family photography captures emotions, memories, and real feelings in a way that standard portrait photos never can.
How Long Do My Maternity Sessions Last?
My sessions range from 2-3 hours to full-day engagements. You won’t be posing and smiling the whole time – I will simply “be around” to document the story of your life while you do normal things at home or another venue.
After the session, I’ll need a couple of weeks to edit the photos and build the perfect gallery for you. At that point, will have the option to purchase the gallery or album.
